Nursing Superintendent

Key Responsibilities:

Nursing Operations Management

• Oversee day-to-day nursing operations across all departments.
• Ensure quality patient care and adherence to nursing protocols.
• Monitor nursing staff performance and productivity.
• Plan and manage nursing manpower allocation and duty rosters.
• Team Leadership & Development
• Supervise, mentor, and guide nursing staff.
• Conduct induction, training, and skill development programs.
• Evaluate nursing staff performance and recommend improvements.
• Foster a positive and patient-centric work culture.

Patient Care & Quality Management:

• Ensure implementation of nursing care standards and best practices.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and address patient concerns.
• Maintain accurate nursing records and documentation.
• Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed.

Compliance & Accreditation:

• Ensure compliance with NABH, Nursing Council, and hospital policies.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
• Maintain statutory records and departmental documentation.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives.

Coordination & Administration:

• Coordinate with doctors, department heads, and hospital management.
• Manage nursing inventory, medical consumables, and equipment requirements.
• Handle emergency situations and critical patient care coordination.
• Prepare departmental reports and MIS for management review.

Recruitment & Workforce Planning:

• Participate in nursing staff recruitment and onboarding.
• Assess staffing requirements and manpower planning.
• Ensure adequate nurse-to-patient ratios as per hospital standards.

Required Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent clinical and patient care knowledge.
• Knowledge of NABH standards and hospital accreditation processes.
• Expertise in infection control and quality assurance.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies and make critical decisions.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Female candidate preferred.
• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• 10 to 15 years of nursing experience in a multispecialty hospital.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Nursing In-charge, Nursing Supervisor, or Nursing Superintendent
• role.
• Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be an added advantage.
