A South Indian vegetarian kitchen trainee supports authentic dish preparation while learning essential skills in food safety, kitchen hygiene, teamwork, and traditional cooking techniques. Key responsibilities include: - Assisting with ingredient prep: washing, chopping, grinding spices, and preparing batters for idli, dosa, and sambar. - Providing basic cooking support: stirring, tempering, using equipment safely, and plating dishes under supervision. - Maintaining cleanliness: sanitizing workstations, monitoring storage conditions, and following hygiene protocols. - Managing stock: receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, and notifying supervisors of low supplies. - Collaborating with chefs: following instructions, attending trainings, practicing professionalism, and understanding dietary considerations. - Ensuring safety: handling hot tools carefully, adhering to fire and first aid procedures for a secure kitchen environment.
