Bouncer Responsibilities for Property

A bouncer is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and orderliness of hospitality properties such as restaurants, clubs, hotels, or event venues. Their duties cover both guest management and asset protection. Key responsibilities include:

  • Access Control
  • Monitor entrances and exits to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
  • Check IDs to enforce legal or venue-specific age restrictions.
  • Screen for guest list admission, tickets, or event invitations.
  • Enforce dress codes or other venue guidelines.
  • Crowd Management
  • Prevent overcrowding by managing guest flow in and out of the property.
  • Maintain calm and order in queuing areas and ensure emergency exits are kept clear.
  • Patrol the premises, both inside and outside, to detect and diffuse potential issues.
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Identify and intervene in disputes or altercations before they escalate.
  • Use de-escalation and conflict resolution tactics to handle disruptive guests.
  • Eject individuals who pose a risk—such as those who are aggressive, intoxicated, or violating property policies.
  • Safety & Emergency Response
  • Act as first responders in emergencies—administer basic first aid or coordinate evacuation.
  • Liaise with police or emergency services in case of serious incidents.
  • Report suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or safety hazards to management or law enforcement.
  • Property Protection
  • Prevent theft, vandalism, or damage to property and assets.
  • Conduct bag checks or security sweeps as needed.
  • Monitor for illegal activity, including substance abuse or weapons.
  • Customer Service & Representation
  • Greet guests courteously and assist with directions or locating property amenities.
  • Provide information about venue rules or answer guests’ questions.
  • Support lost-and-found procedures and assist patrons with issues.
  • Recordkeeping
  • Document and report all incidents, ejections, or property damage.
  • Maintain logbooks for shift handovers and incident review.

Skills & Training

  • Physical fitness and alertness.
  • Proficiency in conflict management and crowd psychology.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid, fire safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Familiarity with local laws and property security protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Bouncers in hospitality properties such as South Indian vegetarian restaurants in Bengaluru may also be involved in managing parking disputes, controlling entry at special events or festivals, and coordinating with valet or security staff to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
