Paint Shop Supervisor
Reports To: General Manager or Production Manager
Supervises: Paint Technicians, Paint Preppers, and Blasters (where applicable)
1. Primary Role Summary
The Paint Shop Supervisor is responsible for the overall efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity of the paint and refinishing department. This role involves technical oversight, personnel management, and process optimization to ensure that all vehicles or components are painted to meet or exceed established OEM, industry, and customer standards, while adhering to budget and schedule requirements

B. Technical Excellence & Quality
Color Matching: Supervise or directly perform complex color mixing and tinting to ensure precise color matches and seamless blendability.
Defect Analysis: Analyze paint defects (e.g., runs, dirt, mottling, solvent pop) and implement immediate corrective actions and training to eliminate recurrence.
Equipment Optimization: Ensure proper setup, calibration, and use of all spray guns, paint booths, and curing equipment.
C. Safety & Compliance
Regulatory Enforcement: Maintain stringent compliance with all local and federal regulations, particularly those concerning the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste (Hazmat/EPA).
PPE Adherence: Ensure all personnel strictly follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies, especially when handling chemicals and working within the spray booth.
Shop Organization: Enforce housekeeping policies to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

3. Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paint Technician and 2 years in a supervisory or lead role within an industrial or automotive paint environment.
