Fabric coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow up with fabric suppliers and mills to ensure on-time delivery as per production schedules.
• Monitor fabric booking, lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk approvals with buyers and suppliers.
• Coordinate with the merchandising and production teams to understand fabric requirements and timelines.
• Ensure fabric quality meets buyer specifications and compliance standards.
• Maintain detailed records of fabric consumption, delivery status, and inventory.
• Liaise with the quality control team for fabric inspection and testing.
• Escalate delays, quality issues, or discrepancies to relevant departments and propose corrective actions.
• Update and manage internal systems or trackers to reflect the latest fabric status.
• Assist in cost negotiations and sourcing alternatives in case of supply chain issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in fabric follow-up or sourcing in a garments/apparel company.
• Strong knowledge of fabric types, weaving, knitting, dyeing, and finishing processes.
• Familiarity with garment manufacturing processes and buyer compliance.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel and ERP software (if applicable).
• Ability to handle multiple styles/orders simultaneously under tight deadlines.
