Cashier

A Supermarket Cashier is responsible for handling customer purchases, processing payments, maintaining accurate billing, and providing excellent customer service at the checkout counter.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers politely and assist them during billing
• Scan products and process purchases accurately
• Handle cash, card, UPI, and other payment methods
• Issue bills, receipts, and refunds when required
• Maintain cash drawer balance at the beginning and end of shift
• Pack items carefully or assist customers with packing
• Resolve customer queries related to billing and pricing
• Keep checkout counters clean and organized
• Coordinate with store staff for price checks or stock issues
• Follow supermarket policies and customer service standards

Required Skills

• Basic mathematics and billing knowledge
• Good communication and customer handling skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in shifts and busy environments
• Basic computer/POS machine knowledge
• Honest, polite, and responsible attitude

Qualification

• 10th / 12th Pass or equivalent
• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not mandatory
